The ambition of The Ultimate Travelling Camp was to transform open farmland adjoining a protected wildlife zone into a high-end safari destination capable of meeting global luxury travel expectations. The project needed to deliver exclusivity, comfort and immersive experiences while ensuring that development remained sensitive to the fragile ecosystem surrounding Ranthambore’s tiger reserve.
Rather than pursuing visual opulence, the vision was to redefine eco luxury through thoughtful integration with landscape, wildlife and cultural memory. EuMo was engaged to design a camp that would balance ecological responsibility, operational efficiency and experiential richness while reinforcing TUTC’s reputation for experience-led luxury hospitality across India’s most iconic landscapes.

The 16 acre site comprised open private farmland located adjacent to a sensitive tiger reserve and wildlife corridor. Any intervention risked disturbing native vegetation, wildlife movement and the delicate ecological equilibrium of the region.
EuMo approached the project with a low impact design strategy, ensuring that accommodation, hospitality amenities and circulation patterns were introduced without overwhelming the land. The goal was to preserve the wilderness character of the site while enabling premium hospitality experiences.
Reframing Luxury in the Wild

Authentic luxury in a wildlife setting lies in letting the wilderness take centre stage.
Rather than competing with nature, the project reframed luxury as privacy, silence, views and proximity to the wild. Subtle references to Rajasthan’s royal heritage, combined with native replanting and restrained design, shifted the experience away from overt opulence towards a sanctuary-like retreat rooted in place.

Landscape-Led Masterplanning & Spatial Zoning
EuMo envisioned the camp as a carefully layered landscape experience. Accommodation tents were elevated on custom platforms and positioned to maximise privacy, views and natural airflow, while minimising ground disturbance.
Common areas including the lounge, dining tent, infinity pool, spa, barbecue area and library were fluidly planned to encourage shared moments without interfering with private zones. Circulation was designed to feel organic and intuitive allowing guests to move seamlessly between solitude and social interaction.
Native planting strategies played a critical role in restoring biodiversity, softening built edges and reinforcing visual continuity with the surrounding wilderness.

Architecture Under Canvas as Spatial Experience
EuMo envisioned the camp as an expression of “Elevated Nomadism,” where tents function as private pavilions- structures that feel temporary in spirit yet robust in performance. Raised platforms enhanced views, improved durability and ensured minimal impact on the ground.
Each tent functioned as a private retreat, complete with decks overlooking the landscape allowing guests to remain visually and sensorially connected to nature at all times. Architectural restraint ensured that the tents dissolved into the environment rather than asserting dominance over it.

Interiors, Graphics & Cultural Storytelling
Interior spaces drew inspiration from the local art forms and wildlife around, interpreted through a contemporary safari lens. Graphics designed for interior walls, material palettes, textiles and detailing referenced regional motifs, colours and craftsmanship without becoming ornamental.
The result was an interior language that felt warm, layered and culturally grounded enhancing the guest experience while reinforcing a strong sense of place.
Bespoke Furniture & Experience Design
EuMo designed custom furniture and interior elements specifically for Sawai Shivir ensuring every piece responded to the climate, use patterns and immersive intent of the camp.
Furniture was conceived to balance comfort and durability, complementing the tented architecture while reinforcing the idea of elevated nomadism. These bespoke elements completed the spatial narrative, ensuring consistency across private and community experiences.
