ICICI Bank sought to reimagine a conventional cafeteria within its headquarters as a space that could better serve the needs of a large and dynamic workforce.
EuMo designed the ICICI Centre of New as a multifunctional workplace environment that transforms a conventional cafeteria into a collaborative innovation hub. The space supports employee interaction, coworking knowledge exchange and internal product testing while reinforcing ICICI Bank’s organisational values and culture of innovation.

ICICI’s ambition was to redesign a 10,000 square foot dining facility that served nearly 3000 employees daily into a space that would reflect their values of a digital, young and dynamic organisation. EuMo partnered the client’s ambition to transform the space into a multifunctional environment that would –
support informal collaboration and discussion among employees,
enable flexible working and coworking within the headquarters,
host town halls, internal gatherings and cultural events,
encourage employee wellbeing and social engagement,
reinforce ICICI’s identity as a digital, young and agile organisation.

EuMo approached the brief by challenging the conventional role of a corporate cafeteria.
The central insight was that spaces where employees gather informally can become powerful catalysts for collaboration, innovation and organisational culture, when they are thoughtfully designed.
Reframing the Workplace Gathering Space
Instead of designing a cafeteria that would be active only during meal times EuMo proposed a space that would remain relevant throughout the day.
The environment was envisioned as a hybrid workplace that combines hospitality, social interaction, collaboration and internal innovation activities.
Aligning with Organisational Culture
The design concept drew inspiration from the internal ethos of the organisation expressed through the acronym DYNAMIC which reflects the company’s aspiration to be digital, young, nurturing, agile, modern, inclusive and caring.

Multi-Purpose Spatial Programming
The redesigned environment intentionally supports a range of activities including daily dining and social interaction, informal co working and team discussions, town hall meetings and employee gatherings, wellness activities including yoga and relaxation, celebrations, events and internal community activities. Active alcoves and varied seating zones create opportunities for both small group interaction and larger organisational events.
Integrating Technology and Workplace Innovation
The space also functions as a platform for internal testing of digital product prototypes.
Technologies introduced within the environment included digital assistants, drop down screens, touch tables and suspended screens. This integration allows the space to function as a real world testing environment for new digital ideas before they are taken to market.

Business and Strategic Impact
Stronger workplace culture: The space has become a vibrant social and collaborative hub.
Higher utilisation of the environment: What was previously a cafeteria used mainly during meal hours now operates as an active destination throughout the day.
Improved employee engagement: Informal meeting zones and collaborative spaces encourage discussion and knowledge exchange.
Innovation support platform: The environment enables ICICI teams to test product prototypes and workplace technologies in a real world setting.
Why the Investment Paid Off
The Centre of New turned a routine operational facility into a strategic organisational asset.
The project demonstrates how thoughtfully designed employee environments can strengthen organisational culture, while supporting innovation and collaboration within large institutions.
